The topography of Morez, set in a narrow gorge and nestling in the Bienne valley, leads to a lack of sunlight for many residents in the town center. To address this issue, Matthieu Martin is proposing to modify the existing urban lighting system and optimize it in order to:
a) saving energy
b) offering more daylight in the city’s heart
In antiquity, thermal baths held a pivotal role within the city, serving as places where citizens attended to the well-being of their bodies. This contemporary version, focused on light baths, would also create a space for meeting and exchanging ideas, inviting residents to partake in a daily light cure. A town-wide light installation could transform Morez into a new area for revitalization and significantly boost the local economy.
La configuration de la ville de Morez localisée au fond d’une vallée, fait que de nombreux habitants du centre ville, manque de soleil. Pour pallier à ce manque, je propose de modifier le dispositif d’éclairage urbain existant et de l’optimiser pour :
a) réaliser des économies d’énergie
b) proposer plus de lumière du jour dans le centre ville
Dans l’antiquité, les thermes étaient un lieu important de la cité, où les citoyens prenaient soin de leur corps. Cette version actualisée et détournée vers des bains de lumières permettra, lui aussi de créer un lieu de rencontre et d’échange invitant les habitants à une cure journalière de lumière. Une installation lumineuse à l’échelle de la ville pouvant faire de Morez un nouvel endroit de cure et relancer de façon significative l’économie locale.
