PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Reclaim the City

Berlin Art Week
Berlin, Germany

10 — 20 September 2024

I am pleased to announce that I have been selected for the open call Reclaim the City, initiated by Bureau N in Berlin.

Presented in the public space of Berlin-Mitte during Berlin Art Week 2024 the project combines the traditions of trompe‑l’œil painting, anti-advertising activism and reflections on the reappropriation of urban living spaces by local residents, creating a visual pause in the city and opening a space for debate during the ten days of the installation.

The installation was visible from 10 to 20 September 2024 at the corner of Joachimstraße and Linienstraße in Berlin-Mitte.

The project took the form of the installation Nachbau (2024), which visually erased an advertising billboard by covering it with a printed image reproducing the exact texture and colors of the building façade behind it.
