In the work Nachbau a billboard (located at the corner of the Joachim Str. and Linien Str. in Berlin) disappear from the urban environment in which it is set by the addition of an image that identically reproduces the texture and colors of the facade behind.
A window is added to the facade, acting as a disruptive element in the building’s rhythm and provoking the architectural rules governing the modification of existing buildings.
This work combines the traditions of trompe l’oeil painting, anti-advertising activism and reflections on the re-appropriation of living spaces by local residents to create a visual pause and open up debate during the 10 days of the installation.
