Assis-Debout, which means “sit-stand” in French is a type of urban furnitures, the aim of which is to deter homeless people from residing on various public furnitures.
Through the so-called “chair” position, the rigid body of the artist attempts to re-place the signifiance act of sitting in the public space and calls into question the way this one is often designed against a certain part of the population.
